At the DMEA in April 2024, we were able to present a new, integrative approach to crisis management at the stand of our partner Mitel. Under the motto "Strengthening organizational resilience through digitalization", we presented the joint hybrid solution "DAKS & Everbridge". The integration solution makes an important contribution to business continuity management and significantly increases productivity in the management of critical incidents. Combining different alerting expertises maximizes the possibilities to protect employees and assets.

The integration of DAKS with Everbridge offers significant advantages for customers who already use DAKS for internal alerting – this of course also applies without restriction to the Mitel/Unify OEM product OpenScape Alarm Response (OScAR):

Extended Communication Range

While DAKS covers internal communication highly effectively, Everbridge is designed for large-scale incidents and corresponding scaling. The integration of DAKS with Everbridge increases the overall reach to internal and external stakeholders. This means that critical information and alerts can be communicated not only to all employee locations, but also to external partners and large groups of affected parties, e.g. via secure mobile phone channels. Messages are delivered efficiently even in far-reaching emergencies without overloading the system. 

Automated and Targeted Messaging

The integration enables automated, rule-based messaging. DAKS can trigger predefined communication sequences in Everbridge for specific types of alarms and warnings. This ensures that the right messages are sent to the right people at the right time, always matching the type and priority of the event.

Comprehensive Overview

DAKS is also integrated into Everbridge's Visual Command Center (VCC). The crisis management portal displays both its own and general events centrally on a graphical interface. Those responsible receive an immediate visual overview of the events that could be relevant to them and can initiate the appropriate measures.

Improved Decision-Making

By combining the real-time alerting capabilities of DAKS with the incident management capabilities of Everbridge, organizations can make more informed and timely decisions. Everbridge provides situational awareness tools to help crisis teams assess the scope and impact of an event. The combined communication functions of the DAKS & Everbridge hybrid solution then enable those responsible to coordinate appropriate measures, e.g. with the help of emergency conferences. In addition, you support crisis teams in assigning roles and responsibilities and tracking the processing status of the various tasks.

Multi-Channel Notifications

Everbridge works with DAKS to support a variety of communication channels, including SMS, email, voice calls and mobile app notifications. This complements the capabilities of DAKS by ensuring messages are delivered through the most effective channels available. The integrated solution maximizes the likelihood that recipients receive alerts in a timely manner and can respond appropriately.

Advanced Analysis and Reporting

In addition to the proven real-time protocols of DAKS, the integrated system offers additional analysis and reporting tools. This helps organizations track the delivery and confirmation of messages, evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and comply with regulatory and legal requirements. The additional insight can help optimize crisis management.

Increased Redundancy and Reliability

The combination of the two integrated systems also ensures even greater redundancy and reliability. If a problem occurs with one of the systems, the other can serve as a backup and thus ensure continuous communication at critical times.
