With the DAKS-Satellite integrator, you can connect decentralized peripherals with serial interfaces and contact inputs to a centralized DAKS system via LAN. This means that external systems (e.g. fire alarm or call systems) that are connected to DAKS-Satellite serially or via contact can activate processes configured in DAKS. In conjunction with the central DAKS server (either hardware or virtualized), DAKS-Satellite can process a variety of additional data from remote systems.
In addition, DAKS-Satellite can be deployed in redundant installations to automatically switch between a primary and a secondary (hot- or cold-standby) DAKS server at geographically separated locations (e.g. in a disaster situation). So there is no need for high-maintenance double cabling to both servers, as DAKS-Satellite routes the payload data via the TCP/IP network to the respective centralized DAKS system while continuously monitoring all the interfaces used.
