Good Conscience with DAKS: Safety + Sustainability

Baum, der aus einem Computer-Chip wächst

Why sustainable?

At long last – and perhaps due in part to the energy crisis – the topic of sustainability has received greater, more appropriate attention. The basic idea of sustainability is, on one hand, that we only use as much of the available resources as we can regrow. On the other hand, the material used should be used as efficiently as possible, for example by producing minimal waste. The throwaway mentality has served its time: we want long-lasting products of good quality instead of constant replacement cycles with fleeting fashion products, and we want to repair what is broken instead of recklessly declaring it to be waste. We take a more conscientious view of nature and only expect a tree to be felled if its replacement plant is already sprouting.

Many organizations have now made sustainability a corporate goal – DAKS supports you in implementing these goals

This connection may come as a surprise, as it is well known that the DAKS alarm server primarily ensures security in your company. What is often not realized is how many more benefits DAKS has to offer a company in addition to the original reason for purchase and the enormous savings potential it achieves despite the initial investment.

DAKS can be purchased and operated with a good conscience, without having to worry about negative effects on your carbon dioxide balance and your ecological footprint. This is despite the fact that an alarm server has to run around the clock, seven days a week, and cannot be switched off like heating over the summer. With DAKS, you benefit from the security and the added convenience of an alarm server without having to compromise on your sustainability goals.

We recently launched our new hardware platforms DAKS-400 and DAKS-110. We are of course delighted that DAKS is once again setting new standards in terms of technology and security with its state-of-the-art processor architecture. But the latest generation of alarm servers also demonstrates its competence in terms of sustainability with the following features:

1. Low power consumption

A DAKS alarm server consumes surprisingly little power. The processor installed in the new DAKS-400 actually only requires 25 watts for a computing power comparable to older models, thus saving almost half of the previous power consumption. DAKS already scored points with much lower consumption compared to competitor products on the market with its earlier servers. DAKS-400 can now top this lead. This is particularly important in terms of sustainability, because an alarm server is constantly online, day and night, year-round – after all, you never know when it will actually be used. Saving power by switching it off is not an option. That's why tetronik has developed DAKS so cleverly that it works extremely energy-efficiently by itself, so that it doesn't unnecessarily burden the customer's costs or environmental footprint.

2. Sturdiness and durability

The DAKS hardware is manufactured from high-quality materials and is tested meticulously. With its sophisticated, powerful and thoroughly tested code, the DAKS software also contributes to the robustness and longevity that our customers value so highly. Once installed in your server room, DAKS can do its job reliably over many years. In terms of sustainability, this means two things: first, there is no need to go to the trouble of procuring replacements and the associated amount of electronic waste that has to be disposed of. Secondly, your investment is protected by the long service life and you have made an exemplary economic decision in favor of an extremely profitable product.

3. Produced in Germany

DAKS is developed and produced in Taunusstein (Hesse), using components from a top-class Bavarian electronics manufacturer. It proudly bears the title “Made in Germany” and stands for quality, short delivery routes and perhaps also a little patriotism and prestige. Within Europe, this regionality not only makes for conveniently short delivery times, but also for a good carbon dioxide balance – because fewer long journeys result in less fuel and fewer harmful emissions. Of course, the German engineering quality also has a positive effect on the aforementioned durability and robustness of DAKS. Unlike devices that often die of material fatigue shortly after the warranty period expires, DAKS is designed to function reliably for many years.

The tetronik GmbH also provides jobs and apprenticeships in Germany. Engineering knowledge is stored and cultivated in Germany instead of being passed on to low-cost production countries. This strengthens the German location and promotes our own expertise.

4. Long-lasting compatibility

To prevent companies from having to rebuild their entire technical infrastructures and incur massive expenses in one go, tetronik is continuously working on expanding interfaces and certifications. DAKS offers seamless integration into both older and modern infrastructures. It enables the connection between established technologies and innovative systems. In addition, DAKS is able to harmoniously integrate existing systems into new environments. Our goal is always to secure investments in the best way possible and to enable a smooth transition.

When acquiring DAKS, it is therefore not necessary to replace all internal systems and devices – instead, existing systems are built upon. This is particularly valuable if existing systems are still working perfectly and employees know how to use the current equipment. Every system renewal means that operators have to get used to and familiarize themselves with the new technology, and this increases the susceptibility to errors. It is therefore not only an economic advantage, but it is also sustainable that DAKS supports a systematic approach to technical renewal processes.

5. Everything from a single source

Hardware, software, support, training center: at tetronik, everything comes from a single source and is united under a single roof. Just as craftsmanship stands for attention to detail and an ideal use of resources, tetronik also focuses on German sustainable thoroughness. The company's headquarters in its own country also enables German-speaking support and knowledge directly from the manufacturer: you always receive help directly from the source. The same applies to our sales partners who are trained directly on-site and equipped with insider engineering knowledge here in Taunusstein.

In conclusion: Sustainability is another convincing feature of DAKS

The fact that DAKS sets standards in terms of safety has always been clear – that it also scores highly in terms of sustainability may have been less obvious until now. The various sustainability aspects of DAKS support you in achieving your sustainability goals and minimizing your carbon footprint. DAKS meets your expectations in every respect: high computing power with low power consumption, long service life, German brand quality with short delivery routes, extensive compatibility – and all from a single source.

Sustainability is not just a trend for tetronik products, but a standard that has been practiced for years!
